HISTORY

Quest Online was founded in February 2006 by serial investor Gregory Wexler and a group of investors. In early 2010 after a restructuring of the company, video game industry veteran Derek Smart was brought in as an investor, partner, and team lead.

In 2010, industry veteran, Derek Smart came on board and was tasked with heading the team, as well as seeing to the completion of the Alganon game which had previously suffered several development setbacks since its inception in 2006. He later became an investor and partner.

Derek’s many efforts at QOL include leading the completion of the Alganon game in 2010, shifting the game’s business model from subscriptions to the emerging Free To Play (F2P) model as well as Green lighting the implementation of key components such as PvP, a monetization platform, an expansion pack etc.

Today, Alganon v2.0 is a more advanced and completed game than any version before it. In the third quarter of 2011 when the 2.0 generation of Alganon was completed, a new 3.0 generation of Alganon went into production and through which the first expansion pack, Rise Of The Ourobani, was developed and released in Q1/2014 to critical acclaim.

Gregory has twenty-five years of experience as an entrepreneur and business leader. He is the Chairman of SmartReply and Founder/member of The MortgageCoach (WowTools.com) — both firms recognized by the OC Business Journal as top fastest growing companies in Orange County (2007).
